  22. v2.09a and v2.09 are functionally identical.  2.09a replaces help
  23. sections that tell how to order ClipMate.  Somehow this was omitted
  24. in other 2.0x versions....
  25.  
  26. v2.07 introduced a changing title bar, which shows the title of the button
  27. that the mouse is currently over.  This currently works only for buttons
  28. that aren't disabled - i.e. grey buttons don't have this property.
  29.  
  30. V2.01 introduced a new feature, the FILTER WIZARD, to facilitate the creation
  31. and understanding of FILTERS, which are needed to filter out unwanted
  32. clipboard data.  The Filter Wizard will activate itself when it 
  33. senses that a filter is needed, to deal with data coming from a 
  34. particular application.  It will list the formats currently available
  35. on the clipboard, explain a little about them, and let you select
  36. the ones you want.  Once the filter is created, the Wizard will no
  37. longer be invoked, in response to data coming from the application 
  38. that you just copied data from, but may be invoked by data coming 
  39. from other applications.  i.e. the Wizard won't pester you for ever.

  41. Several bugs were fixed, since the 2.0 release:

  46. NOTE TO AUTO-GLUE and PowerPaste USERS:
  47.  
  48. If your application reports an error during an Auto-Glue or
  49. PowerPaste, then it is
  50. likely that your application and ClipMate are both going after the
  51. clipboard at the same time.  To overcome this, you need to create a
  52. filter for that application, and then use the ADVANCED OPTIONS dialog
  53. (accessed from the FILTER dialog) to initiate a small delay (100 ms)
  54. when copying the data.  This should ensure that your app is allowed to
  55. complete its clipboard operations, before ClipMate tries to update
  56. the clipboard.  This should not be necessary with applications that
  57. use the clipboard "by the book", but with some applications, including
  58. Word for Windows, you need to do this.

  62. To install ClipMate, just run the accompanying
  63. SETUP program from the Program Manager.
  64. (ex: FILE|RUN A: SETUP)
  65.  
  66. If you already have the files on your hard drive, you can still use
  67. the SETUP program.  It is strongly recommended that ClipMate be
  68. placed in its own directory.

  70. When the Setup program runs, it will create a ClipMate group,
  71. with the ClipMate icon, and icons for documentation.  If you 
  72. decide to move the ClipMate icon to another group, such as the
  73. STARTUP group, you can delete the ClipMate group.

  93. It is important that ClipMate be placed in its own
  94. directory.  When first run, ClipMate will create a
  95. \data directory.
  96.  
  97. You are encouraged to place ClipMate in your Startup Group,
  98. and to assign a hot-key to it.  The hot-key must be done
  99. through the Program Manager, but the group can be changed
  100. during installation.

  102. To assign a hot key (after installation), just click once 
  103. on the icon, and select File|Properties from the Program 
  104. Manager's File Menu.  In the Hotkey field, press a 
  105. key-combination, such as Ctrl+Alt+C.  
  106.  
  107. ClipMate 2.0 has many new features, such as support for 
  108. virtually all data types, such as Graphics, and OLE 
  109. objects.  Be sure to try the new PowerPaste feature!

  161. Installation:
  162. -------------
  163. Just run SETUP.EXE.  ClipMate will be installed,
  164. and the icon will be put in the program manager,
  165. in a new group called CLIPMATE.  It is suggested
  166. that you move this icon to your STARUP group.

  168. Manual Installation:
  169. -------------------
  170. To manually install ClipMate, just copy all of the
  171. Distribution Files to the directory of your
  172. choice.  It doesn't need to be in the path, and
  173. there are no funny environment variables to set.
  174. Create a directory, such as \clipmate, and put the
  175. files there.

  177. Create an icon in the program manager with a
  178. Command Line that points to ClipMate.
  179.  
  180. For example:
  181. C:\clipmate\clipmate.exe
  182.  
  183. Effect on Your System:
  184. ----------------------
  185. The first time that you run ClipMate, it will
  186. create \windows\clipmate.ini.  WIN.INI is NOT 
  187. altered in any way, nor are any of your other
  188. system files.

  192. ClipMate will create and save the clipboard data
  193. into DEFAULT.CLM, or another .CLM file that you
  194. specify.
